On October 20 at 6 pm, Racing’s North Turn restaurant and sports bar in Ponce Inlet will host a silent auction in support of two organizations that are fighting autism — the local Team Monster Marchers and the national organization Autism Speaks. Monster Marchers is built around a special kid named Kaleb and his special mom, Desiree.
Desiree explains, “I’m not just any mom though, I’m a mom to a super-kid named Kaleb. Kaleb’s alter ego is called The Monster Man, and he has autism.” Hence the Team Monster Marchers.
After Kaleb’s diagnosis, his family had no idea where to turn, or what to do next, until they discovered Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to helping those affected by autism, raising awareness and education, and funding research. Autism Speaks is a lifesaver for families all over the country who are faced with autism.
First Ever Local Autism Auction
Racing’s North Turn’s silent auction and raffle is being held to raise money for Team Monster Marchers in support of the first local Walk Now For Autism Speaks. All proceeds will go directly to Autism Speaks, to benefit the thousands of families who are touched by autism every day.
North Turn co-owner Rhonda Glasnak says she wants to have annual fundraisers at her restaurant to help kids with autism. The Auction and a Poker Run will both take place at Racing’s North Turn. The October 20 event will start at 6 pm and include a silent auction, raffle, and 50/50 drawing to support Team Monster Marchers and Volusia County’s first “Walk Now For Autism Speaks.”The North Turn is located at 4511 South Atlantic Avenue in Ponce Inlet.
